Ri Van Veen is a sculptural ceramic artist; most of her works are medium-sized, abstract pieces based on the female form. It is through clay that Ri explores and communicates the concepts and ideas that inform her world. It is not just the creation of form that inspires Ri but also the firing type. The hot physical and tactile process of wood, pit and raku together with the inherent resultant unpredictability make these firings her favourite. |
